Bob the Builder: Mega Machines is a Bob the Builder feature length special that was released in May 27, 2017 in the UK and November 21, 2017 in the US and Canada and the first special of Bob the Builder. In this special, Bob and the crew meet the Mega Machines. The special is directed by Stuart Evans. This is the only Bob the Builder special to be animated by Mainframe Entertainment and this is the latest Bob the Builder special to be released before the Bob the Builder franchise went on hiatus in 2019.

This special is dedicated to Fred de Bradeny the producer of Bob the Builder 2015 from Seasons 1-2), who died from losing battle with cancer at the age of 52 on January 28, 2017.

                                     

1. Plot

Scoop, Muck, Lofty and the rest of the gang can’t wait to help Bob with his biggest build ever – building a dam and transforming an old quarry into a reservoir to provide Spring City with fresh water. Bob enlists the help of another builder, Conrad, to help clear the quarry – along with his three enormous Mega Machines, Thud, Crunch and Ace. Conrad, secretly resentful that he lost out on the dam-building contract to Bob, plots to undermine his rival’s reputation and sabotages the dam. Soon Bob realizes that things are not as they should be… and that it’s up to him and his team to save Spring City!
